About
Dateline, 20/20 and 48 Hours — tonight's case, what happened after, and where they are now
True Crime On Air follows the three big U.S. true-crime newsmagazines — Dateline NBC, ABC's 20/20 and CBS's 48 Hours — with a preview of each night's case before it airs, a recap after, and follow-ups on what happened next, based on the networks' official episode descriptions and reporting by established news outlets. We do not use broadcast screen captures, and we report only what has been publicly documented. Listings data via TVmaze.
Editorial standards
True Crime On Air is produced under editorial rules that require every case detail and air date to be checked against at least two sources before publishing: the networks' official episode descriptions and reporting by established news outlets, which are listed at the end of each post. We do not reproduce full episodes or report details beyond the public record, and we do not use broadcast screen captures; images are our own illustrations and official clips embedded from the networks' YouTube channels.
